FixMyCity — Terms of Use
Last updated: 2026-09-04
Working draft. Have it reviewed by a lawyer before publishing.
1. What FixMyCity is
FixMyCity lets residents of Bengaluru report civic issues, support other people's reports, and — where a channel exists — forward a report to the authority responsible for it.
FixMyCity is not a government service. We are an independent platform. Filing a report here is not a substitute for any statutory complaint procedure, and we cannot promise that any authority will act.
2. Your account
You must be 18 or over. One account per person. You are responsible for what is posted from your account. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.
3. What you may not post
- Content that is obscene, defamatory, or invasive of another person's privacy
- Photographs of identifiable individuals taken without regard for their privacy, and photographs whose main subject is a person rather than a civic problem
- Anything that infringes someone else's copyright
- Deliberately false reports, fabricated locations, or a photograph presented as something it is not
- Content that is unlawful under Indian law, including Rule 3(1)(b) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules, 2021
4. Your content
You keep ownership of your photographs and text. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display them in the app and on our website, and to forward them to the relevant public authority as part of a filing you initiate. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies already sent to an authority, which we cannot recall.
5. Moderation and appeals
Content may be removed, held for review, or refused — automatically or by a moderator. If that happens to you:
- You will be told, in the app.
- You may appeal to the grievance officer at grievance@orrgo.com.
- We will acknowledge within 24 hours and decide within 15 days.
Anyone may report content using the in-app report control. We aim to act on reports within 24 hours, and within 36 hours where the law requires it.
6. Filing with authorities
When you file a report with an authority, we send it in our name on your behalf. We do not send your identity. We cannot guarantee delivery, a reference number, a response, or any action. What the authority says about a report is reproduced as we receive it and may differ from what residents observe.
7. Availability
The service is provided "as is". We do not promise it will be available, uninterrupted, or free of errors, and we do not guarantee that data will never be lost — keep your own copies of photographs that matter to you.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Bengaluru have exclusive jurisdiction.
